Porsche Cayenne for salePorsche CayenneThe Porsche Cayenne was launched Geneva motor show in 2002. When Porsche declared they were entering the utility vehicle sector everyone was, well to say the least, a bit surprised. The Porsche Cayenne was co-developed with the Volkswagen Group and introduced in 2002, despite lots of groans the Porsche Cayenne has proven to be another success story for Porsche. Of course many Porsche purists will never be convinced, especially as the Porsche Cayenne was co-developed with VW. But the fact remains that many Porsche owners have embraced the Porsche Cayenne and sales are very good.Porsche recognised that they had to increase their range of models to level out the sales curves. To be profitable Porsche are dependent upon the American market (the USA accounts fro 50% of sales) and the Americans love their SUVs. Porsche’s CEO; Wendelin Wiedeking, told reporters in 2002: "For Porsche to remain independent, it can't be dependent on the most fickle segment in the market...We don't want to become just a marketing department of some giant ...We have to make sure we're profitable enough to pay for future development ourselves." The Porsche Cayenne has added a much need boost in sales and profits and combined with the success of the Porsche Boxster, the company is going form strength to strength.
